We hear stories time and time again of phones dropped in the toilet, in our drinks, in the washing up sink, phones which have gone through the washing machine or were dropped on holiday in the pool.
Our mobile phones carry so much data now that any potential damage is a huge risk. We save our contact numbers, our photos, even our documents on our phones and, unfortunately, they are prone to damage and our SD cards corrupting.
If this happens to you and your phone refuses to switch on after being dropped in water and you haven't backed up your data in the cloud or elsewhere, does this mean you have to accept all your data is gone forever from water damage? Not necessarily. You may be able to take steps to get your phone working again, and you may also be able to access all those files you feared were lost forever.
